ZSL London Zoo

London Zoo is a great place for a family day out. Being able to get up close to a varied amount of animals and find out fun facts about them. The different sections in London Zoo aim to give you an experience you’ll never forget! Receive a map on entry which will then leave it open to you which part of the zoo you visit and in which order.


Not only does London zoo have the wow factor it also offers learning about these animals and their habitats, diets etc in a fun and interesting way.

If you came fully prepared with lunch and all there are some cool sitting areas for you and the family, if not there is also a restaurant to buy from and also a gift shop to bag yourself a gift for that special person.

London Transport Museum

The London transport museum allows you and your children to enjoy a journey back in time to see how things have changed over the years and gives you all a chance to see all the changes to learn about all the modern day transport that we have today. 


As well as it being very educational this museum also has a restaurant, a gift shop, areas for to enjoy picnics, and a play area for the children to enjoy some transport themed fun! 

Science Museum

The science museum is up there with one of the most popular and most visited museums in London. 


There is something to fascinate each child and adults too! It’s a great day out as a family as well as it being an educational trip it is also a very interesting and exciting one too! There is also live science exhibitions that take place (which also require a ticket on arrival) and activites for children which involve a map of the museum and having to go and find out information on the different types of science and drawing.


The gift shop has something for everyone as well as restaurant inside to grab a bite to eat and places to sit and enjoy your packed lunch.

V&A

The V&A museum of childhood is a museum for children of all ages to find their creative side and get inspired.


There is lots of history and information as well as art sculptures and paintings to help get your little ones creative side in full swing. With the nationals childhood collections at the heart the aim is to be an international leader in encouraging and engaging the audiences in the material culture and experiences of childhood.

Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington world of adventures offers exactly that! The zoo has some of the most stunning animals for you to walk around at your leisure and see them and get up close and personal.

 

Also, the theme park offers fun and exciting rides for all the family. There are hotels at the resort if you did want to extend your day to maybe a weekend away with friends and family.


Fantastic on site restaurants to eat and a great gift shop!

Battersea Park and Children’s Zoo

The Battersea park and zoo is one of the smaller zoos in London. Perfect for the toddlers that are not able to walk around for long periods of time. 


You will not find the big 5 animals here but none the less it is still an educated and fun day out for all the family. With the option to feed the farm animals also which the children will enjoy. 


Also, offering lots of different interactive play areas for different age groups.

Children's Gardens at Kew Gardens

Kew gardens is a fantastic day out with family adventure. 


A stunning, massive garden for children to learn more about how plants grow and what need to help them grow. 


Also, offering a 4m high tree-top walk so you can browse around the garden and experience a bird’s eye view look.

Emirates Airline Cable Cars

The emirates cable cars the River Thames and the royal docks.


The best time to use the cable cars is when you can see all of London lit up – which is a beautiful sight. Its just as interesting during the day, inside the cable cars they play some music and slowly move clockwise around. 


Being right next to the O2 arena you can grab some lunch afterwards with the family. 

Mudchute Park and Farm

This urban park and farm is situated just south of Canary Whalf. This is a perfect day out for all the family, with 100 animals such as goats, pigs, cows. 


There are stables and places you can go and opportunity to feed and stroke some of the animals. 


As well as this being a fun day out there is also and educational element which is a great 2 in 1 idea! Benches and tables to seat and enjoy a packed lunch or something from the farm café.


Lastly, the park side of mudchute offers a big open space to play with outdoor equipment such as climbing frame, slides and swings.  

Sealife London Aquairum

The sea life London aquarium is fun for all the family. 


There are over 500 species of marine life in 14 themed zones. Perfect for those not so sunny days as you will be inside getting up close with them all. 


Children can enjoy the gift shop and pick up a gift for a loved one. 


Also, there is a restaurant to eat in or you can come full equipped with your own lunch.

Museum of London

The museum of London offers you to experience the turbulent past! 


Prehistoric London can be discovered when you visit and gain an insight into how city changed under romans and saxon. 


You can take a stroll through the recreated pleasure gardens and get a feel for walking the Victorian streets in the galleries.

Bank of England Museum

The bank of England museum takes you through the history of the bank since its foundation in 1694. There are lots of fascinating, fun facts to learn about concerning money today in modern times. 


Also, work shops for the children to help give them a clearer concept of money and some fun money related games. 


For the slightly older children they can find out things such as why notes are so difficult to copy and why the building is one of top of the worlds largest stores of gold – maybe even some interesting and unknown facts for the adults too!

Tower of London

The tower of London is of the most popular places to visit in London today. The fascination is its hundreds and hundreds of years history.


There are sculptures and pictures to see and read information on. Also get an up-close look at some of the crown jewels and find out fun facts about them.


Tower of London is situated in the heart of London so you are able to sit outside to enjoy lunch and there is local food markets to choose from if you wanted to go all out.

If trains are fascinating to your child then this museum is a winner.


Find out about all the steam trains and facts about how they were made and when for example. Also, gain some knowledge on the cross-section of an engine and how it works.

 

Even though this trip is out of London it can be a great place to go and visit when you are in Yorkshire.
